“User experience encompasses all aspects of the end-user’s interaction with the company, its services, and its products.”
– Don Norman, Cognitive Scientist & User Experience Architect
Essentially, UX applies to anything that can be experienced it can be a website, a coffee machine, or a visit to the supermarket. The “user experience” part refers to the interaction between the user and a product or service. User experience design, then, considers all the different elements that shape this experience. A UX designer thinks about how the experience makes the user feel, and how easy it is for the user to accomplish their desired tasks. For example: How easy is the checkout process when shopping online? How easy is it for you to grip that vegetable peeler? Does your online banking app make it easy for you to manage your money? The ultimate purpose of UX design is to create easy, efficient, relevant, and all-round pleasant experiences for the user.
User experience is a mixture of tasks focused on the advancement of a product for effective and enjoyable use where else user interface design focuses on the look and feel, the presentation and intuitiveness of a product.
In contrast to UX, user interface design is a strictly advanced term. A UI is the purpose of association between the user and a digital device or product— like the touchscreen on your cell phone, or the touch-pad you use to choose what sort of espresso you need from the coffee machine. In relation to websites and apps, UI designs thinks about the look, feel, and intelligence of the item. It's tied in with ensuring that the UI of an item is as natural as possible, and that means carefully considering each and every visual, interactive element the user might encounter.
A UI designer will think about icons and buttons, typography and color schemes, spacing, imagery, and responsive design. Like user experience design, user interface design is a multi-faceted and challenging. It is responsible for the transference of a product’s development, research, content and layout into an attractive, guiding and responsive experience for users.
Branding IS essential in user interface, especially in case when you want to use the interface as the additional flow of user attraction as well as the way to increase brand awareness. The reason is simple: UI designer working on the interface, its color palette, shapes, types and fonts, illustration and icons, will consider design solutions appropriate and corresponding to the branding concept of the product that will make them mutually supporting each other. It provides more natural and harmonic feeling of the brand in general and the particular interface as the integral part of this brand.
